True IBO Stories
Tuesday, April 10, 2007
Over the past few years, it has been my privilege to help share true IBO stories through a number of vehicles, like www.thisbiznow.com, Success from Home Magazine, and the "Facts About Quixtar" DVD (and, now, website).  Lots of stories have been shared about this business by many people with many different viewpoints. We've shared thousands of them ourselves through Achieve Magazine, but those stories have only been shared with IBOs, so our more recent initiatives are significant in helping bring balance to the online dialog about people's experiences in our business.

Even with all of our communications, there are MORE stories to be told.  There are as many stories as there are IBOs. People don't think their personal stories have an impact, but they do!  Each person's experience helps shed light on this opportunity for others who are in the business or considering joining. That's why the new True IBO Stories blog is so exciting to me.  It will provide a place for IBOs to tell their own stories and not wait for the editor of Achieve to call. I hope IBOs take advantage of this opportunity to share their experience and let people know how the Quixtar business has made a difference in their lives.

Meanwhile, work on the other initiatives continues. This week we're doing more tapings for www.thisbiznow.com, and we're planning a new version of the DVD with content from that site for this fall (as part of the Straight Talk bundle).  That DVD also will be included free in the new version of Success from Home magazine that will be published late this year. I met with the publisher and editor last week in Dallas about our new issue, and heard many great stories about how other companies have used that magazine and other tools to get their opportunity story into the hands of prospects.

In the final analysis, I view my role here at Quixtar as "storyteller."  Stories about the company and how it supports individuals who want a business of their own.  Stories about products that truly make a difference in the lives of people.  And stories about IBOs -- real people with real lives and real issues and real successes to share. As a former journalist and a communicator, I'm thrilled to have such rich content to share. I'm also thrilled there are more ways than ever to share these stories. I hope you take a moment to share with Achieve Editor Nick Katsarelas your personal story.

Hi Kia!

I think the True IBO stories is a good idea, as long as it puts a fair amount of focus on newer IBO's who haven't "made it" yet, but have reached the point where they know they can. As a newbie, myself, and having listened to countless CD's and tapes, it would be a lot more helpful to me to hear from people who have more recently passed this way.

What were their struggles when they started, what did they learn quickly NOT to do? What was the turning point--that YES, this is what it's all about moment? What kept them going until they got there? What resources and guidance did they find most useful to get over the hump?

These are the things that would be really good "just like me" stories for those of us just starting down this road!

I agree Rusty.  I think every IBO, regardless of achievement level, has a great story to tell. Why are they in the business? What motivates them? What successes have they had (i.e., a successful sale, overcoming an objection, a good experience related to their business group).

.

Like I said, there are so many stories to tell and not all of them will make ThisBizNow.com and Success From Home and Achieve ... but they can easily make it onto the blogosphere within the Opportunity Zone.

.

By the way, True IBO Stories is one way to share within the Zone. Another is to share with Leyla at the One By One Blog how you're making a difference in the lives of others.
