Big Easy Blogging
Tuesday, April 17, 2007

So, here I am sitting on the floor in a breakout room listening to a presentation about social media support for Jeep.  Interesting stuff. Earlier heard from one of Ice.com founders about their upcoming IceTV channel at YouTube. Looks like it should be fun.  As was the presentation on DumpCupid.com.

Makes me wanna do a bunch more stuff (TODAY!!) that I can't get started ... at least not until OpportunityZone and some other initiatives are fully launched and doing what we hope they'd do.

Haven't seen much of New Orleans yet, but did go to French Quarter to eat at K-Paul's last night.  Yum, I had blackened drum .... delish.

OK.  I will blog more from WOMMA this week ... maybe even today still.  I hope wherever you are it's as sunny and beautiful as it is in the Big Easy today.

You HAVE to go to Mondo, or whatever that place is, by the water with the fried dough... yeah yeah, it's just fired dough like everywhere else, but something about the way they do it, with all the powdered sugar you need to add and top it off with their hot chocolate seems to be the perfect thing... Have fun in New Orleans! Look forward to hearing about all the different ideas that can be explored by Quixtar, or even IBOs, in the near future!

Thanks Brad.  You're like the third person who has referred me to Cafe Du Monde for beignettes. I will try to go and get back on the diet again when I'm back in GR. I would probably do coffee rather than hot chocolate, though.

No, no...don't waste your time on beignettes...go for the Hurricane at Pat O'Briens! Then head over to Preservation Hall for the music. Or, take the trolly down St. Charles to the Camellia Grill for awesome diner food!

I was just in NOLA on Monday. Cafe DuMonde is nice, but try The Coffee Pot on Royal and Peter for the best breakfast ever. Zagat gives it an Excellent...I have given it 5 Howdies and 4 gold Stars. It's where we always eat. Too bad I didn't know you were there we could have had a drink and split a stripper. Dave

Kia, You're right, New Orleans is not the place to be on a diet. Try the pastrami sandwich at Maspero's in the French Quarter. I haven't been there in a while, but they used to have the best sandwiches, just be sure you show up hungry, they are BIG. By the way, I knew a college friend from New Orleans who posed the traditional question to Jimmy Connors (yes, the tennis Jimmy Connors), "Is this your first time at Cafe Du Monde?" When he answered yes, she blew the left over powdered sugar into his face. He wasn't happy, but was "initiated".

Anxious for transformation,
