A Night at the Zoo
Thursday, August 02, 2007

The Walk went well last night. It started off a little hot, with temperatures in the 90s, but as the sun set and we completed the walk around the park, it became very pleasant at the zoo. The animals were all out and about, which truly was exciting for Jack, my five-year-old (OK, me too .... I like seeing the animals actually in motion rather than lying under a bush). The hot dogs from Yesterdogs were awesome (my favorite is the Chedderdog, while Kari prefers the Ultradog). Jack is a straight Kechup-and-Mustard man. Amanda? I can't remember. I just know that she wouldn't want chili or onions on hers. :-)

More importantly, hundreds of people came out to show their support of Easter Seals, with the majority coming from Alticor and Quixtar. Quixtar presented a check for $72,000 to Easter Seals and Jim Payne was delighted with the turnout. He gave Leyla strong props this morning at a Quixtar employee meeting for her efforts to get employees and IBOs out to the Walk. Her goal was to double the number of employees participating this year ... she actually tripled that!
Anyway, it was fun and it raised money for Easter Seals and it was good to see so many co-workers and their families. I'm glad the event is beginning to snowball and I hope that the WWM events around the country experience the same momentum and provide the same positive experience for Quixtar IBOs.
