Still World's Fastest Man

It's kind of funny, but coverage of Track & Field events in the U.S. kind of takes a backseat to all the major sports. In Europe, I've been told, Track & Field is much more prominent and stars in that sport are more highly recognized.

So, when I opened USA Today this morning, I was surprised to see that Asafa Powell has lowered his World Record in the 100m to 9.74 seconds.  WooHoo!!  That's great news on the heels of Asafa losing at the World Championships a few weeks ago. Tyson Gay did not compete at the event in Zurich, citing fatigue and sore hamstrings.

Way to go Asafa!!  Can't wait to see you again soon to congratulate you personally!

That was great news. In a world so filled with the bad news! I was very pleased to see his NEW world record.
