Achievers Update
Thursday, November 29, 2007

You know, as a company in the midst of a transformation, there is a lot of uncertainty, nervousness, and in some cases, distress. With all of that out there, I can't help but feel that this is the best Achievers I have ever been to.  Of course, that's only based on the first session.  But WOW!

From the stage presentations to the Expo to the comments made by new Diamonds and other pin levels being recognized, there was a strong sense of unity and partnership. Very few people had strong negative opinions about the business transformation that we're going through, including new products, compensation plan enhancements, advertising and other reputation efforts, and of course ongoing work on building relationships. There was almost universal praise for the new products, the new-look Quixtar.com, and the aggressive outreach the company will be making.

Exclamation points were provided last night in presentations by Glenn Armstrong, a new Alticor exec in charge of the Innovations group, and John Maxwell, who had a special talk crafted just for this year's Achievers. Steve Lieberman did a great job from stage outlining all of the efforts we're making on behalf of IBOs, providing more detail than I think I've ever seen provided in such a setting.

My own experience in the Reputation booth has been nothing but positive.  There was a lot of excitement about the new Success From Home magazine, which is arriving in the mailboxes of Silver Producers and above in the next few weeks. A lot of people were really interested in its use as a prospecting tool.  Maxwell and Armstrong both stated pretty clearly that the company and IBOs need to try some new things and that might mean getting out of their comfort zone. One of my favorite sayings has been "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always received in the past." In the case of our business, I don't think that's true. If we do what we've always done, we will continue to see a slow slide or stagnation at best.

I was excited by what I heard, but even more so I was excited by what I saw in the eyes and heard in the voices of IBOs here at Achievers. I'm looking forward to Session 2, which starts tonight. I'm hoping this group has as positive an experience as the last group.
