REAL Quixtar Blog: The End of an Era
Wednesday, August 27, 2008

The Quixtar/Amway Global brand transition we've been talking about all year continues on its inexorable path, with REAL Quixtar Blog standing in its path. Changes across the board are happening within the next few days, and that includes a renaming and rebranding of this blog. I asked a long time ago what you all thought I should rename this blog when the time came.  Well, the time has come.

And the answer is simply Superdu. I blogged about Superdu and its origins a long time ago and Bridgett suggested a really long blog name that had Superdu contained within it. But in the end I thought just Superdu pretty much summed it up.  The masthead here will temporarily be changed to read "The Superdu Blog," but I will just be referring to it as Superdu from now on. The name kinda reminds me of the movie title "Superbad" (I didn't see it ... I'm sure I didn't miss much). I have removed the little dots over the "u" since I don't even know what that German accent does ... plus it's really hard to key in every time!

Important to note:  If you subscribe to my RSS feed, you will need to re-subscribe after September 1. You DON'T want to miss out on your regular dose of Superdu!

Robin,

Will see Sept. 1 also see a change in the main web address ... Quixtar.com becoming AmwayGlobal.com? Or does that happen at a later date?

.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Quixtar.com is still Quixtar.com come Sept. 1, but you'll also have AmwayGlobal.com as your entryway to that site.  The transition continues well into next year...   RL

In danish, swedish, and norwegian, "du" translates as "you".

SuperYou! :)

.

EDITOR'S NOTE:   EXCELLENT!!   That makes the call to go to SuperDu even better.  Hey, should it be Superdu or SuperDu?  -- RL

Any chance it could be Amway Global's SuperDu? Your site has been one of the more popular blogs, especially in referencce to search engines. It would be a shame for there to be too subtle of a connection between your site and Amway Global.

Speaking of foreign tongue, du(du:) in Korean means the number two or head which is derived from Chinese orgin.

Robin, TWS is correct re Search Engine Optimisation. All the blogs should have Amway in their titles somewhere, even if it's some template thing like *Blog Name* - An Amway Global Blog it will help.

Robin,

Please listen to TWS and ibofightback.

ALL of the Opportunity Zone blogs should have "Amway Global" in their names.

Even Opportunity Zone itself should have "Amway Global" in it's name.

It's really crazy that these don't come up in searches because it lacks the name of the company.

I agree, and I pointed this out to Beth Dornan as well.  Make it SuperDu: AN Amway Global Blog.

(not THE Amway Global Blog)

Simple enough, and it maintains the attitude you are going for.

Dave

PS: Remember, I won a sales kit for my suggestion to Beth. ;)
