Back To School X 4
Thursday, August 28, 2008

This year's an odd one for "back to school" in our household. Amanda started college this week (we moved her to GVSU last week) and her new post-secondary life has begun. Conner starts High School next week, but already has been running with the Cross Country team a few weeks, competed in two meets, and made many new running buddies.  That leaves Dillon, starting 5th Grade next week (he'll be one of the "big kids" on campus, since it's a K-5 school with 6-8 going to Middle School), and Jack, who starts 1st Grade (the first time he'll be an "all-day" kid every day).

New chapters for each of my kids. Perhaps the best new chapter is for Kari, who will not have a kid at home at all during the school day for the first time in more than 18 years. I'm not sure which of my family members will experience the biggest life change this year ...

While the kids are getting ready to board the bus for school, we're coming down the final stretch before boarding a bus (and semi trailer) of our own. We're just weeks away from completed Mobile Brand Experiences for Artistry and Nutrilite, just in time to hit the road to accompany "Amway Global Presents Tina Turner Live in Concert." And, while we get them unveiled and prepped for nearly three months of "big wheels keep on turnin,'" we simultaneously will kick off the YMCA relationship with survey results, advertising, and wellness assessments at 100 local Ys across the country as part of America on the Move Week.

The fun does not stop there, of course. More announcements will come regarding other ways we will be hitting the streets, getting the Amway Global, Nutrilite and Artistry brands in front of North American consumers, who are your potential customers and prospective IBOs.  My family's getting back on the bus. For the kids, it's yellow. For me, it's branded Artistry. For Kari, well, she gets a well-deserved break!

I don't see any Amway Global visibility on the YMCA site. Do you know why?

.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  We are listed on their Corporate Sponsors page and I'm sure you'll see more when our actual events and program elements hit.  The site to go to for national YMCA is www.YMCA.net.   RL

Found it, thanks. You are listed with well known, respected, and large companies. Let's hope the right changes are made so we can all say the same things about Amway Global some day.

The convenience of the products have done wonders for my wife and I. Honestly, we are WAY too busy to go to the grocery store anymore. We love having a pile of "presents" (products) piled in front of our front door.

Actually-- we got two neighbor clients on ditto just because we always have product waiting for us. We live in an affluent neighborhood, so theft isn't an issue... In any case, we don't have kids yet, and we already see the convenience. We can't wait until after we have a house full of young'ens... Great post, thank you!

Speaking of going back to school, I noticed you haven't turned in your "homework", and put the QBOB in a more easily found location on the site. Or at least explain when it may get done/why it isn't going to be done. Thanks.

While checking out the A/Q site, which I consider some of my ongoing "homework", I noticed the new glucosamine, which can be purchased in a one or two month supply, plus the two month supply has a savings of almost $5 compared to the one month supply. I was disappointed when A/Q got rid of the case lots, so hopefully this is a sign of more quantity value pricing. Do you know if we can expect more of this in the times ahead?

Quixtar/Amway Canada just announced it will be closing the Canadian distribution center, moving operations to Ada, MI effective Jan 23,2009.

The link on the adatudes site still refers to "the real quixtar blog".

.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  Yup.  It'll be a transition that takes a little time. There's content right on SuperDu that still refers to RQB as well.    RL

You didn't respond to the above comment:

Speaking of going back to school, I noticed you haven't turned in your "homework", and put the QBOB in a more easily found location on the site. Or at least explain when it may get done/why it isn't going to be done. Thanks.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  You're right, Tex, I owe you a response.  The homework wasn't necessarily for me to post the QBOB someplace for you, but to get you an answer.  Anyway, it did start up an active conversation over here that went on for some time ... which is why I didn't post right away. The decision was and is this: the (now) Amway Global Business Opportunity Brochure is available electronically as part of the registration process, which is appropriate.  The gist of what the AGBOB contains is in the opportunity section at the website, so we're covered there.  In the end, the hope is that the glossy, printed version is used as much as possible to provide a professional image for the company and the IBOs.  Thanks Tex!           --   RL

In other words, a link to the AGBOB will not be available to prospects after showing them the marketing plan and prior to them signing up?

If so, this defeats the intent of the original request, which was to have the option of providing an internet based link to information regarding an internet based business.

Is there still an 80-something character link to the new AGBOB?

When you said "opportunity section", is this the same as the "Start A Business" section? If so, the rules department told me this information is NOT adequate to replace the AGBOB.

Here's the text of the e-mail:

"I apologize for the delay in responding to your email.  As you mentioned in our discussion regarding the QBOB, I did say that the QBOB could be viewed online by the new prospect however after speaking with you I checked further and it appears it is a requirement that they actually receive the QBOB brochure.  I apologize once again for the misinformation."

.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  You are correct.  The Start A Business section is a tool you can use, but does not replace physically handing an AGBOB/QBOB into the hands of a prospective IBO.  The online version with "80 characters" in the URL is intended for you to print off and hand to a prospect -- not for prospect viewing.  The new IBO signs off on their registration form that they have received the brochure -- not viewed an online presentation.  RL

Do you have a new link for the AGBOB? The previous one still goes to the Quixtar document, not the Amway Global one. Thanks.

I guess not.
